Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least 18 to publish paid content or cash out earnings.

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• One account per person — no shared or automated accounts.
• Provide accurate information when signing up and when completing Stripe onboarding.

You retain the ownership rights you already hold in your content. Posting on IlorisNovel does not transfer ownership to us or give you ownership of someone else's work.

By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute your content on the platform — including audio narration we generate at your request.

You are responsible for all content you upload, import, publish, or otherwise make available, including stories, chapters, translations, cover art, images, and audio. Each time you submit content, you represent and warrant that you own the necessary rights or have permission or another valid legal basis to use it, publish it, and grant the license above. Your content must not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other rights.

Crediting the original creator, finding a work online, changing its title or wording, translating it, or publishing it for free does not by itself give you permission to use it. These requirements apply to both free and paid content, including content submitted through import or AI tools. You are responsible for obtaining and keeping any necessary permissions and providing evidence of your rights if we reasonably request it.

You can remove your work at any time. Removing content or closing your account does not release you from responsibility for content you previously submitted.

Cover Quality and Publication Standards

Published works must have a clear, polished cover that meaningfully represents the story. These standards help maintain the quality of our catalog and readers' experience of discovering web fiction on IlorisNovel.

• Images must be clear and appropriately cropped, without obvious pixelation, stretching, or unintended blur.
• Composition and any lettering must be coherent and legible, without garbled text, obvious unintended distortions, or unfinished visual elements.
• Artwork must meaningfully reflect the story; generic or substantially repetitive imagery with little connection to the work may fall below our standards.
• The same standards apply regardless of how a cover was created, including through AI tools.

We exercise reasonable editorial discretion when applying these standards. We may require a replacement cover, decline publication, or temporarily unpublish a work whose cover does not meet them.

Before unpublishing an existing work for cover-quality issues, we will notify the author of the specific issues and give them at least four business days from our notice to submit a replacement. For this policy, business days are Monday through Friday, excluding the day we send the notice. Each notice will state the exact deadline and time zone. A general policy announcement does not start this individual correction period.

We will review a replacement submitted by the deadline before deciding whether to unpublish the work for those issues. A work unpublished for cover quality may be republished once an acceptable replacement is approved. To submit a replacement for review or request reconsideration, contact support@ilorisnovel.com with the story link. Separate provisions governing unlawful or infringing content continue to apply and may require action sooner.

Coins are a virtual currency used to unlock chapters, play audio, and subscribe to authors. Coins have no cash value until redeemed by an eligible author through the cashout flow.

• Coin purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law.
• Authors cash out at a fixed rate of $0.50 USD per coin, with a 7% platform fee and a minimum withdrawal of 20 coins ($10 before fees) via Stripe, or a 9% platform fee and a minimum withdrawal of 50 coins ($25 before fees) via PayPal.
• Payouts are processed by Stripe or PayPal; the selected provider’s terms also apply to payout activity.

Don't use IlorisNovel to:

• Publish content that is illegal, sexually explicit involving minors, or that incites violence.
• Publish stolen, plagiarized, or otherwise infringing content, or re-upload content removed for infringement without resolution of the claim and our permission.
• Upload malware, scrape the platform, or attempt to bypass paywalls and access controls.
• Harass other users, impersonate authors, or manipulate rankings and reviews.
• Launder money or commit payment fraud through coin purchases or cashouts.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and withhold earnings tied to fraudulent activity.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless IlorisNovel, its operators, and their officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees and costs arising from content you submit, your infringement of another person's rights, or your breach of the content promises in these Terms. This means you are responsible for covered claims and costs caused by your unauthorized use of someone else's work.

We will give you prompt notice of a claim for which we seek indemnification and reasonable cooperation in its defense. We may participate in or assume control of the defense. You may not settle a claim in a way that imposes an obligation on us or admits fault on our behalf without our written consent. This obligation survives removal of your content or closure of your account and does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own unlawful conduct or a liability that cannot lawfully be transferred to you.

IlorisNovel is provided "as is". We work hard to keep the platform reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that the service will meet every expectation.

Authors and other uploaders are responsible for their content and for having the rights to publish it. Hosting, displaying, promoting, or enabling payment for user content does not mean we endorse it or guarantee its ownership, originality, legality, or non-infringement. We do not undertake to pre-screen every submission or verify every claim of ownership, but we will respond to infringement as described above and as required by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IlorisNovel and its operators disclaim liability for infringing or otherwise unlawful content submitted by users and for losses arising from good-faith removal or restriction of that content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or limits rights or obligations that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
