Despite its comical nature, the shirime is deeply observant and well-connected to the gossip of the spirit world. It drops a crucial piece of information to Katsuyori, revealing that his infant daughter survived the fall of the Takeda clan and was taken to Kogakuji Temple by a loyal retainer.
