Nate is the son of Derik and Elaina Westman, making him the nephew of Carol Westman and Daniel Ulrich. He studied corporate law, compliance, and contract negotiations at Stanford and now runs a firm with one of his brothers. Like Matt, Nate is deeply frustrated by his extended family's controlling nature and actively avoids his manipulative grandmother.
After meeting Nikki at a Vegas club, the two hit it off and get married at a local chapel while intoxicated. Though the marriage was unplanned, Nate is completely smitten with Nikki and fully commits to their relationship, confidently defending their union to her protective parents when they arrive in Vegas.
