The night Marilyn went into labor, there was a heavy storm.
Rain hit the windows.
David rushed her to the hospital.
He held her hand.
“You're going to be okay.”
“I'm scared.”
“So am I.”
“You aren't supposed to say that.”
He smiled.
“Then I'm not scared.”
She laughed despite the pain.
Hours passed.
Then suddenly, they heard a cry.
A baby's cry.
David froze.
The doctor smiled.
“Congratulations.”
David looked at Marilyn.
She was crying.
He was crying too.
“What is it?” he asked.
“A girl.”
Marilyn smiled.
David held his daughter for the first time.
He whispered:
“Welcome to our movie.”
