When David returned home, he found an envelope on the table.
His name was written on it.
He opened it.
David,
I don't want us to become two people who live in the same house but live completely different lives.
We promised to watch every movie together.
But lately, we have been watching our own screens.
I don't want to lose you.
I don't want to win arguments.
I want us to win together.
If you still believe in our story, meet me tomorrow at the old tree.
Marilyn.
David read it twice.
Then he smiled.
The old tree.
Their first goodbye.
Their reunion.
And now, perhaps, another turning point.
