Chapter 23 — The Strongest Decided
Deep within the isolated domain of Elder God Poseidon, the heavy, suffocating air reverberated with the concussive shockwaves of raw divine power. Jiren had already retreated into the silent shadows, sitting completely motionless with his eyes closed as a dense, crimson barrier of absolute focus hummed quietly around him, keeping his promise that he was far from slacking off. Nearby, the rest of the elite had cast aside all hesitation, plunging headfirst into a relentless, high-intensity clash against the primeval Saiyan god, Yamoshi.
Blow after blow shook the celestial training platform, the shockwaves tearing through the fabric of the dimension. Gohan stood back just enough to watch the unfolding chaos, his dark eyes analyzing every shred of movement, his expression a mask of cold, calculated intensity as he monitored his comrades' limits.
As the training grounds burned with raw kinetic energy, the scene violently tore away, shifting across dimensional boundaries back to the grand, tiered coliseum where the cosmic tournament was reaching its fever pitch.
The vast amphitheater hummed with an electric, suffocating tension. Across the elevated viewing tiers, the ruling pantheon of spectator deities leaned forward, their expressions hardened as the weight of the tournament pressed down on them. Standing at the center upon his towering throne of crackling white marble and gold, Zeus raised his hand. Lightning snapped furiously around his massive shoulders, casting long, dramatic shadows across his severe brow.
His booming voice echoed across the dimensional void, cutting through the murmurs of the assembled pantheons to announce the next stage of blood and dominance.
"As for the next round," Zeus declared, his voice vibrating with absolute authority, "it will be between Elder God Chronoa and Castiel."
Across the grand arena, Elder God Chronoa stepped forward from her tiered platform, her pale face framed by cascading white hair and cold, predatory crimson eyes. A dark, amused smile twisted on her lips as the heavy silver chains draped across her purple vestments clinked with a chilling metallic resonance.
"Oh, old man... you actually chose me?" Chronoa chuckled, her voice dripping with a sharp, mocking condescension as she glanced toward the opposing balconies. "How delightfully interesting. Fine. My warriors? They were always prepared for slaughter, unlike the pathetic, fragile toys Mister Hades had brought to the stage. Heheheh..."
From the opposite gallery, Castiel sneered, his blue-skinned visage contorting into a mask of pure, unadulterated fury. The white robes of the celestial archangel rippled violently as an overwhelming aura of divine wrath surged from his core.
"Tch! You put me with this wretched witch, Father?!" Castiel barked, his voice ringing with absolute disdain as he glared down toward the center stage. "She thinks she holds all the cards, but she's nothing! My champions are not ordinary fighters, nor are they mere mortals playing at godhood. Just you wait—I'll turn her entire pantheon to ash."
Far away from the glittering spectacle of the coliseum, the scene violently shifted back to the ruined, smoking crater of Elder God Hera’s sanctuary.
The air was thick with the suffocating residue of divine eradication energy. The all-out civil war among the elite warriors had reached its absolute climax. The final, earth-shattering clash between True Demon Gogeta and God Killer Goku had left the landscape utterly decimated, pillars shattered into powder and the obsidian floor cracked into a spiderweb of abyssal chasms.
Moments later, the smoke slowly parted.
Standing entirely alone amidst the vast devastation was Gogeta. His chest heaved with heavy, ragged breaths, his multi-toned aura crackling erratically around his battered frame, bearing the minor fractures of a grueling, supreme war. A few paces away, God Killer Goku finally succumbed to the overwhelming pressure, dropping heavily to one knee, his violet-silver hair falling over his eyes as his crimson gaze burned with stubborn, reluctant defeat.
All around them, the rest of the elite—Vegeta, Gohan, and the others—were completely incapacitated, lying broken and drained across the rubble, their auras entirely extinguished.
Gogeta tilted his head, a dark, manic, and ecstatic grin stretching across his bloodied face as he looked down at the fallen warriors who had dared to challenge his supremacy.
"Kakarot..." Gogeta spoke, his dual-toned voice vibrating with absolute, overwhelming power as he stepped forward, casting a long, dominant shadow over his rival. "Now... bow before your new leader of this team. Me. Gogeta. Heheh..."
