Chapter 22 — The Overwhelming Power of the God Killer Fusion

The air within Elder God Hera’s sanctuary hung thick with the acrid scent of ozone and cooling stardust. Across the shattered, cratered expanse of the battlefield, the dust finally began to settle, revealing a landscape utterly remade by divine devastation. The other elite warriors were down, kneeling amidst the rubble with their auras flickering out to dying embers, though whether they had truly exhausted their limits or merely masked their remaining strength remained an unsettling mystery hidden behind bruised scowls and heavy breaths.

At the center of the ruin stood only two.

True Demon Gogeta’s formidable frame radiated an oppressive, multi-toned pressure, his manic, ecstatic grin cutting sharply through the shadows as he stared down his lone remaining rival.

"Kakarot," Gogeta spoke, his dual-toned voice slicing through the heavy silence with a sadistic edge. "You're actually keeping up. Not bad. I've put a few down, but only you're still standing in my way."

God Killer Goku stood a few paces away, his violet-silver hair disheveled and his crimson eyes burning with a cold, unyielding defiance. The remnants of his past bloodlust had long since cooled into a heavy, remorseful resolve, but the core of a warrior—sharp, severe, and utterly hardened—remained absolute.

"I'm different, that's all," God Killer Goku spoke, his tone a flat, metallic monotone that carried an eerie weight. "And while I'm standing, this is actually getting interesting. Come on then."

"As you wish," Gogeta hissed, his muscles tensing for another catastrophic collision.

Far away from the fractured ruins, deep within the isolated, timeless domain of Elder God Poseidon, a vastly different kind of tension gripped the air. The vast, celestial training grounds vibrated with low, rhythmic concussive booms as five powerful figures pushed their bodies past the breaking point, waiting anxiously for the second round of the tournament to be officially announced.

Yamoshi stood at the center of the platform, his divine presence anchoring the space as he surveyed his companions with a critical eye.

"Getting stronger is needed," Yamoshi spoke, his voice echoing cleanly across the stone floor as he thought back to the terrifying displays witnessed across the cosmos. "Especially after seeing the power that other version of you—and that fusion—flashed out there, Goku."

Hearing his name, Goku grinned, a sharp, wild expression breaking through his grim exterior. He clenched his fists, the ambient energy around him beginning to warp and fracture space itself.

"Hah! Damn, he was strong alright," Goku laughed, though there was no humor in his eyes—only the relentless drive of a survivor. "He didn't even show his full hand, did he? Heheh... alright, bring it on!"

In an instant, a blinding eruption of volatile light tore through the domain. Goku ignited his signature transformation, his hair surging upward into the majestic, spiked tiers of Super Saiyan 3, seamlessly fused with the pristine, untouchable aura of Ultra Instinct and dense layers of destruction ki. The sheer gravity of his pressure cracked the nearby stone flags. "I'm ready, Yamoshi!"

Before the shockwave of Goku’s transformation could even settle, a violent, purple-black tempest exploded across the opposite side of the platform.

"Hmph. Kakarot, you won't be the one to defeat that clown—I am!" Vegeta barked, his voice dripping with absolute, unyielding arrogance and the fierce ambition of a prince who refused to be outdone.

Vegeta surged forward, moving like a streak of dark lightning. In a heartbeat, he exploded into his ultimate state: Super Saiyan 3 infused with True Ultra Ego. His brow furrowed savagely, his eyes burning with a dark, sadistic ecstasy as his muscular frame swelled with raw, unbridled destruction energy. He launched himself directly toward Yamoshi, cutting through the heavy air with terrifying speed.

"Prepare yourself, Yamoshi!" Vegeta roared, closing the distance with a suicidal ferocity, a manic grin stretching across his face. "This time, I wont lose!"

Watching the chaotic buildup from a short distance, Gohan crossed his arms, his dark eyes flashing with a mix of academic calculation and latent, protective fury.

"Everyone's getting fired up. Good," Gohan muttered, his voice cold and steady before his gaze drifted toward the silent corner of the platform. "Hey, Jiren. What about you? Just going to sit this out?"

A few paces away, Jiren stood motionless, his eyes closed as a dense, crimson barrier of sheer focus hummed quietly around him. He didn't even bother to turn his head, merely offering a cold, dismissive glance over his shoulder.

"I'm off to meditate," Jiren replied, his deep voice cutting through the noise with absolute finality. "Just know... I'm not slacking off."
