CHAPTER 12: THE FINAL STAND OF TRAINING
The scorched expanse of the crucible fell into a dead, absolute quiet, broken only by the crackle of multi-colored lightning dancing across Goku’s newly transformed frame.
The air itself seemed to bow under the gravitational weight of Primal Mastered Ultra Instinct. The long, majestic silver-white hair whipping backward, the complete absence of eyebrows, the fierce amber-gold irises burning with divine focus, and the thick, silver-white tail swaying steadily behind him—every element screamed of an evolution that bridged the gap between ancient mortal ancestry and absolute angelic serenity.
Vegeta pushed himself up onto his knees from the rubble, his eyes wide, blood dripping from his chin as he stared in unadulterated shock. "Kakarot... what in the name of the cosmos is that form? He merged mortal primal ancestry with... with angelic instinct?!"
Gohan wiped a streak of sweat and dirt from his forehead, his jaw practically locked in disbelief. "His ki isn't just powerful anymore... it feels like it's breathing with the universe itself. Dad’s completely transcended his previous limits."
Jiren folded his arms tightly once more, though his sharp eyes tracked every flicker of Goku’s new aura. "The density of his focus... Yamoshi has finally awakened a monster."
In the center of the shattered arena, Yamoshi stood frozen for a fraction of a second. The initial shock quickly gave way to something far more dangerous. The ancient god’s chest heaved, his metallic-gold eyes wide with an ecstatic, uncontrollable frenzy. The battle-hungry instinct of the very first Saiyan god—a bloodlust that had slumbered for eons—shattered every restraint.
A wild, manic grin split Yamoshi's face, exposing teeth gritted in pure exhilaration.
"Yes... YES, Son Goku!" Yamoshi's voice roared, echoing like thunder across the endless white plains as his Primordial Ikari Super Saiyan God aura exploded outward in a violent wave of crimson and gold. "Fuel my Saiyan battle hunger! This battle will decide who is the truly strongest here! I have high expectations from you and your newfound primal ki energy and angelic instinct, boy—get ready!"
There was no countdown. No warning.
They clashed.
The impact tore a literal chasm across the remaining floor of the chamber. Goku didn't just match Yamoshi's blinding speed this time; he eclipsed it entirely. Moving with zero thought and fueled by the raw, untamed heartbeat of his primordial ancestry, Goku vanished and reappeared in a microsecond, his fist connecting with Yamoshi’s midsection with the force of a collapsing supernova.
BANG!
Yamoshi grunted sharply, a spray of golden-tinged ki erupting from his back, but he didn't falter. Driven entirely by sheer, unadulterated hunger for battle, Yamoshi abandoned all defensive strategy. Pure, brutal strength was the only thing left in his mind—the primal, savage fury of the ancient Saiyans unleashed without filter or mercy.
"Is that all the modern era has?!" Yamoshi roared, throwing a furious, wild right hook that could have shattered a dimension.
Goku’s head tilted a microscopic fraction of a millimeter to the left, the punch slicing harmlessly through the air by a hair’s breadth. With calm, chilling precision, Goku countered instantly, spinning on his heel and driving his elbow straight into Yamoshi’s jaw.
CRACK!
The force of the blow rattled the teeth of everyone watching from the perimeter. Gohan flinched, stepping half an inch forward. "Dad’s movements... they're completely fluid. He's not reacting to Yamoshi's attacks anymore—he's dictating every single frame of the fight!"
Jiren nodded grimly. "Yamoshi is relying purely on overwhelming savagery. But against an opponent whose body moves before thought exists, raw brutality is a trap."
Yet Yamoshi was not a god of legends for nothing. Driven by his insatiable bloodlust, he refused to yield. He lunged forward like a wounded beast, grabbing Goku by the shoulders and slamming his forehead directly into Goku’s face in a brutal headbutt.
THUD!
Shockwaves rippled outward, and for a split second, Goku’s amber-gold eyes flickered. But the Primal Mastered Ultra Instinct held firm. Gritting his teeth against the searing pain, Goku channeled the multi-colored lightning wrapping around his tail and legs, driving a devastating knee straight into Yamoshi’s ribs.
The exchange turned into a relentless, high-speed war of attrition.
Clang! Boom! Shhh-kwoom!
Every second felt like an eternity. Blow for blow, shockwave for shockwave, the two titans battered each other across the ruined arena. Yamoshi was most excited for this battle than anything he had experienced since the dawn of time, his laughter echoing wildly over the deafening roar of their clashing auras.
"Fascinating!" Yamoshi screamed, blood dripping down his cheek as he rained down a vicious barrage of crimson-and-gold energy blasts. "To think a mortal could push me to this absolute precipice!"
Goku didn't waste breath on words. His face remained an unreadable mask of absolute focus, the silver-white tail lashing behind him to stabilize his trajectory as he wove effortlessly through the storm of explosions.
However, even gods have limits.
As the minutes dragged on, the sheer exhaustion of maintaining the Primordial Ikari Super Saiyan God form began to catch up to Yamoshi. His frantic, brutal onslaught slowly lost its razor-sharp edge. His breathing grew heavier, his arms felt like lead, and the blinding crimson-and-gold aura flickered violently, struggling to stay ignited. The vast stamina reserve of the ancient god was finally draining away.
Goku’s heightened instincts instantly registered the micro-hesitation in Yamoshi’s guard. A sudden shift in the ancient warrior’s weight distribution. A half-second delay in his counter-attack.
Now.
Goku dropped his stance instantly, sliding backward through the pulverized dust to create distance. Before Yamoshi could recover his momentum, Goku thrust both hands back, cupping them together as a blinding, familiar sphere of pure blue light materialized between his palms.
The multi-colored lightning of his primal form wrapped around the blue sphere, supercharging it with a density that made the surrounding space warp and buckle.
Vegeta’s eyes widened in sudden realization. "He's channeling everything... every ounce of the primal ki and angelic energy left in his body into a single strike!"
Gohan clenched his fists so hard his knuckles turned white. "He's going to end it right here!"
Yamoshi planted his boots into the fractured stone, looking up with a wide, exhausted, yet utterly ecstatic grin. He raised his arms, channeling the last lingering embers of his primordial power to meet the incoming doom. "Show me, Son Goku! Show me the final color of your soul!"
Goku’s amber-gold eyes flared with absolute brilliance. He threw his hands forward, releasing a cataclysmic torrent of energy.
“KA-ME-HA-ME-HAAAAAA!”
A colossal beam—swirling with angelic silver, primordial multi-colored lightning, and the brilliant blue of a mortal's unyielding spirit—erupted across the crucible. It swallowed Yamoshi whole, filling the entire chamber with a blinding, roaring pillar of light that tore through the remaining structural boundaries of the training grounds.
For a long, agonizing moment, time itself seemed to freeze.
Then, with a deafening shockwave that shook the foundations of the entire realm, the light finally shattered.
Silence rushed back in, heavy and profound.
The dust settled over a massive, deep crater. At the center, Yamoshi stood on one knee, his clothes tattered, his ancient aura completely extinguished, and his chest heaving as he stared down at the ground. A slow, deeply satisfied smile curved across his lips before he finally allowed himself to fall forward onto the stone, completely spent.
A few yards away, Goku stood tall for a final heartbeat. Then, the multi-colored lightning faded, his silver-white hair cascaded back to normal, the silver tail vanished, and he dropped out of his transformation. Breathing heavily, his knees buckled, and he collapsed backward into the dust, a tired, triumphant grin plastered across his face.
The final stand of training was over. And the true journey was about to begin.
