CHAPTER 9: THE AWAKENING RESOLVE OF THE EARTHLING SAIYANS
The dust settled over the fractured, cratered wasteland of the chamber, leaving behind an atmosphere heavy with the scent of ozone and crushed reality.
Vegeta stood swaying on his feet, his chest heaving as the magenta flames of Mastered Ultra Ego 3 flickered dangerously against his skin. Every muscle fiber in his body screamed in protest, his bones aching from the sheer backpressure of unbridled destruction ki. A few hundred meters away, Goku pushed himself up from the crater floor, wiping a streak of crimson from his lip. He slowly re-ignited his silver-white aura, stepping back into Mastered Ultra Instinct 3, though his breathing was noticeably ragged.
They had thrown everything into their previous assault. They had pushed past physical boundaries, bypassed mortal logic, and tapped into the twin extremes of divine authority—and yet, Yamoshi stood before them breathing with barely a hint of fatigue.
Far back in the observation zone, Gohan’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief. "They landed direct hits with God-tier destruction and angelic speed... and he's still standing at full composure?"
Jiren didn't blink, his arms remaining locked across his chest. "Yamoshi is not merely fighting them. He is measuring them. And they have yet to reach the bottom of his reservoir."
In the center of the arena, Yamoshi raised his chin, his metallic-gold eyes piercing through the swirling white haze. His Primordial Ikari Super Saiyan God aura flared, casting a terrifying, pre-universal glow that made the air feel thick as lead.
"Is that the ceiling of your evolution?" Yamoshi’s voice echoed like a judgment from the dawn of time. "You wield the powers of Destroyers and Angels, yet you falter when faced with the primordial fire from which all things were born. If this is all the modern era has to offer, Posaiden’s mandate is already doomed."
Vegeta’s teeth ground together so hard a sharp crack echoed across the silent plains. A dark, vicious snarl twisted his features. Doomed? Us?
All the frustrations of a lifetime—the endless shadows of gods, the eternal chase after Kakarot, the crushing weight of a prince without a throne—condensed into a single, blinding point of absolute rage.
"You arrogant relic!" Vegeta roared, his voice trembling with seismic fury.
He didn't just power up; he erupted. The magenta flames of Ultra Ego 3 violently expanded, turning pitch-black at the edges as Vegeta deliberately threw away all remaining restraint. He stopped trying to contain the destruction energy. Instead, he let it consume him, letting the Hakai flood his veins until his skin fractured with glowing, jagged purple lines.
Goku snapped his head toward his rival. "Vegeta! At that output, your body will tear itself apart before he even touches you!"
"Shut up, Kakarot!" Vegeta bellowed, blood dripping from his chin as he locked his gaze onto Yamoshi. "If we die here, we were never fit to represent anything anyway! Let's see how this primordial god handles a universe burning to ash!"
Goku stared at the prince for a fraction of a second. Then, a wild, reckless grin—the trademark smile of a true Saiyan adrenaline junkie—broke across his blood-stained face.
"You never know when to quit, do you?" Goku chuckled softly. "Alright. If you're burning down the house, I'll stoke the fire!"
Goku closed his eyes. The silver-white glow of Mastered Ultra Instinct 3 suddenly inverted, pulling inward like a imploding star before bursting outward in a roaring pillar of pure, blinding platinum light. The temperature in the chamber plummeted instantly, the silence of absolute zero wrapping around his frame as his body moved entirely independent of thought, driven not just by instinct, but by a desperate, unbreakable resolve.
Yamoshi’s brow finally furrowed. For the first time, a genuine jolt of surprise flickered within the ancient god’s golden eyes.
"You refuse to break," Yamoshi whispered, watching as the two modern Saiyans began to push their respective energies far beyond the threshold they had just established. "Even when the path is impossible... you carve a new one."
"That's what makes us who we are!" Goku shouted, his voice ringing with absolute clarity.
With a concussive shockwave that leveled the remaining pillars of the chamber, Goku and Vegeta moved as one. They didn't coordinate with words; they synchronized through decades of shared rivalry, two opposing forces of creation and destruction fusing into a singular, terrifying assault.
Vegeta vanished first, slamming into Yamoshi’s left flank with a devastating Hakai-Final Impact, a beam of pure annihilation that tore the white floor wide open. Yamoshi raised his arm to block, but the sheer force of the destruction energy forced the ancient god to slide back an inch.
Before Yamoshi could counter, Goku materialized directly beneath his blind spot, moving with impossible, fluid grace.
“Angelic Dragon Fist!”
A colossal, shimmering dragon composed entirely of pure angelic silver-white ki erupted from Goku’s fist, wrapping around Yamoshi’s entire body in a blinding coil of celestial wrath.
Yamoshi let out a sharp grunt of exertion, his Primordial Ki flaring violently to repel the serpentine light. "Impressive!" he yelled, his voice straining against the combined assault. "You force my hand!"
With a deafening roar, Yamoshi unleashed his absolute maximum power. The Primordial Ikari Super Saiyan God form expanded into a towering vortex of red and gold energy, completely shattering the angelic dragon and throwing Goku and Vegeta backward through the air.
Yet, as they tumbled through the dust, neither Saiyan stopped.
Vegeta caught himself mid-air, blood streaming down his face, and launched himself back into a suicidal dive straight toward the center of the vortex. "You think a little pressure can stop a Destroyer?!"
Goku flipped gracefully, his silver hair catching the crimson light as he mirrored Vegeta’s charge, his fists cocked back for one final, all-or-nothing strike.
They were giving everything—every ounce of training, every drop of blood, every memory of their struggles across the multiverse.
Yamoshi stood at the center of the storm, his eyes wide with a mixture of profound awe and fierce, unbridled respect. As the two Earth-raised Saiyans closed the distance for their final, multiverse-shaking collision, the ancient god smiled.
The chamber held its breath, waiting for the impact that would define the true limits of their power.
