Chapter 6: Wrong......Again
"Alright, students what will you be facing in your upcoming guild
assistance mission? You get this wrong and I'll make you all wish you were
shoving toothpicks in your toenails instead of training." Announced
Professor Raizen with a stern face as if he didn't just say anything about
toothpicks and toenails.
***
Professor Raizen is a teacher at the academy who is known for his
incredibly harsh tactics and intense training regiment. He's also quite a
famous Tangent hero, a Swordsman who can manipulate the Element of
Lightning to a fascinating degree. He was fast approaching at least top 5
strongest Heroes and suddenly stopped running tangents and became a
teacher at the C.S Academy...he still won't tell anyone why.

Claude raised his hand as fast as possible to be sure that Prof. Raizen
had no choice but to pick him.
Prof. Raizen directed his attention to Claude giving him the greenlight
to answer the question. "I'm pretty sure we'll be assisting the local SkyLight Guild in dealing
with invasive Nightmare Beetles in the Redwoods, Sir." Claude replied.
".....Your incorrect Claude...again, and you have damned your class to
another session of hellish training." Prof. Raizen said with a slightly pained
expression.
The whole class let out a collective groan of frustration directed at
Claude along with a slew of negative remarks they thought were too quiet
for the Prof. to hear. They didn't seem to understand Claude was doing them
a favor, when someone got an answer wrong in class Professor Raizen
would up the intensity in training, whether it be longer sparring sessions,
more reps during weight lifting or even sparring with the Prof. himself, it all
was for the benefit of the class.
Claude knew that everyone in class thought he was a dick for eagerly
raising his hand to get the question wrong almost every day, but those extra
hours of repeated movements and those little increases in strength would be
the deciding factor in life or death scenarios...which is a scenario they were
going to be placed in a lot in the future.

"Before class ends somebody needs to tell me what your actually going
to be facing." Prof. Raizen demanded.
Students looked around the room nervously for their savior until Samuel
raised his hand with a smug grin, "Sir, we'll be facing Plated Snakes on
behalf of the SkyLight guild." "Correct Samuel, now what are Plated Snakes? Do NOT get this
wrong." Prof. Raizen said as his thick black eyebrows furrowed.
"Plated Snakes are as the name states, very large snakes with sleek
black keratin plates on their backs that act as armor and sandpaper like
bellies they rub against you when constricting which can cause severe
scraps and burns when rubbed against bare skin."
"Well done Samuel, now it's time for physical training so everyone pack
your bags and get to The Platform."
***
The Platform is located to the far right of the academy, as the name
states it's a platform in the middle of a wide expanse of grass. What's on
The Platform always gives Claude a jolt of nervous excitement in the pits of
his stomach.
The Platform is divided into sections by category. The first category
being Weights, anything to do with lifting and warming up the muscles and
joints, there's equipment for body weight work such as rings and pull up
bars and even incredibly heavy equipment like atlas stones. The Weights
section has everything you need to pursue muscle growth and strength
gains.
Next is the Combat section which is a few hundred feet from the
Weights section, the Combat section has sparring equipment like practice
weapons, extra armor and training dummies imbued with magic so when
you hit it a glowing number appears above the dummy representing your attack power. It also has an area for people to work on accuracy, moving
and still targets, and lastly the ring. The ring is where spectator sparring
matches are held twice a week between students to get real combat
experience.
Lastly is the Obstacle Course section, sporting high beams, ramps,
swing ropes and wall climbs, the purpose of this area is to hone your speed,
agility and stamina in a realistic fashion.
***
After Claude stepped out of the academy with the rest of his class to
head to The Platform he noticed people glancing in his direction and talking
about a sparring match causing him to remember something he had
forgotten completely.
"Ohh yeaa, I'm sparring against Samuel today."
