Chapter 2

Amira left without saying a word to Malik, her father. She simply wanted some time alone to calm herself after everything she had been going through over the past few weeks.

She was afraid to tell her mother that she was pregnant, especially when she didn't even know who the father of her unborn baby was.

Amira arrived at the supermarket. She walked past the shelves of fresh fruit and cold drinks. Her throat felt dry, and her body was exhausted and weak.

Un neknownst to her, someone was watching her from a distance.

A handsome, tall, well-built man stood nearby, wearing a white shirt with the top button undone.

Those eyes never left Amira.

He had been searching for the young woman for the past month.

"That's her."

Oliver immediately walked toward Amira.

"What are you doing here?" Oliver asked, standing beside her as he picked up a piece of fruit from the shelf.

Amira ignored him. To her, the man was nothing more than a Casanova who was desired by thousands of women.

She briefly turned her face away, hoping he would leave without bothering her. She didn't recognize Oliver at all. Even his face looked completely unfamiliar to her.

Yet, for some reason, he acted as though they had met before.

Even the tone of his voice sounded so certain, as if he were speaking to someone he had deeply missed.

"I asked what you're doing here," Oliver repeated, moving closer. His voice was low but firm.

Amira glanced at him for a moment before looking back at the fruit in front of her.

"Sorry, but I think you have me confused with someone else," Amira replied indifferently.

Oliver frowned.

Amira's gaze looked genuinely unfamiliar, as though she had never seen him in her entire life.

But Oliver was one hundred percent certain.

The woman standing before him was the same girl.

The drunk girl from that wild night a month ago.

The girl who had been haunting his thoughts ever since.

"I'm not mistaken. You're Amira, aren't you?"

Amira looked at him, slightly startled.

"How do you know my name?"

"Because I've been looking for you for an entire month."

Oliver's voice made Amira's chest tighten.

She didn't know why.

She couldn't remember ever meeting this man before, let alone telling him her name.

"You're mistaken. I don't think we should be talking," Amira said quickly.

She grabbed a cold drink and pushed the shopping cart away, but her steps were stopped almost immediately.

"Wait..." Oliver held onto the edge of the cart. "I know you may not remember anything, but I remember everything. That night..."

Amira stiffened.

The words that night immediately sent a shiver through her.

She had never truly known what happened on the night she became heavily intoxicated, except for the pain she felt the following morning.

And since then, her life had changed.

She was pregnant... without knowing who the father of her baby was.

All because Erick had betrayed her.

"Don't talk about that," Amira cut him off quickly, her face flushing, whether from anger or embarrassment, she didn't know. "I don't know what you're talking about, and I don't want to know. Stay away from me."

"I don't want to hurt you, Amira," Oliver said in a much softer voice. "I just want to talk. Five minutes. That's all."

Amira shook her head.

"I have to go."

She quickly pushed the cart away from Oliver, but the man continued following her.

Not forcefully, but like someone who felt responsible.

He noticed something was different about her. Her pale face, slightly weakened body, and occasionally unsteady steps all suggested that something had changed.

When they first met, Amira had been perfectly healthy, despite being drunk.

Until finally...

Oliver took a deep breath.

"Are you pregnant?"

Amira stopped walking.

Her heart pounded violently.

The hand holding the bottle of water trembled.

She had never told anyone.

Not even her mother.

Not even Malik, the father who had always been strict but had always tried to protect the family's dignity.

"Who are you, really?" Amira whispered without turning around.

"I'm the man who spent that night with you, a month ago."

Amira's body trembled.

Those words shattered the reality she had been desperately trying to deny.

She didn't know who had touched her that night.

But if this man was telling the truth...

"I don't know what you did to me that night. But if you're telling the truth, then you have ruined my life," Amira whispered, her voice barely audible.

Oliver clenched his jaw.

He knew none of this would be easy for her to accept.

But this was the truth.

And perhaps he had to take responsibility.

"If you want, we can talk somewhere else. I'll listen to everything you have to say. I'll help you."

Amira turned to him quickly, her eyes glistening with tears.

"You think your help will fix everything?"

Oliver lowered his gaze.

"No. But maybe this can be the beginning of fixing what went wrong."
