Chapter 2 — The First Awakening

Lin Yue slowly opened his eyes.

Cold wind brushed across his face.

For a few seconds, he didn't move.

He simply stared at the unfamiliar sky above him.

There was no city.

No buildings.

No cars.

No lights.

Only enormous trees stretching toward the clouds.

“This isn't Earth…”

He clenched his fist.

Lin Yue stared at the screen.

“Ten years…?”

He touched the air in front of him.

His hand passed through the screen.

Lin Yue took a deep breath.

Instead of panicking, he began thinking.

A terrifying roar shook the entire forest.

Birds scattered from the trees.

The ground trembled beneath Lin Yue's feet.

His expression immediately became serious.

Something enormous was approaching.

Branches snapped in the distance.

Lin Yue stepped backward and searched for somewhere to hide.

Then he saw it.

A gigantic black wolf emerged between the trees.

Its body was covered in dark scales, and blue flames burned around its eyes.

Lin Yue froze.

“A monster…”

The creature lowered its head and stared directly at him.

Lin Yue's heart began beating faster.

He had no weapon.

No fighting experience in this world.

And definitely no idea how powerful that creature was.

The wolf suddenly charged.

Lin Yue jumped aside.

BOOM!

The creature smashed into the tree behind him.

The impact sent pieces of bark flying.

Lin Yue rolled across the ground and quickly stood up.

“I can't fight this thing.”

The wolf turned around.

It charged again.

Lin Yue instinctively raised his hand.

At that exact moment—

[Would the host like to awaken the first innate power?]

Lin Yue stared at the message.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“So that's how it is.”

He looked at the approaching monster.

“Yes.”

The system responded instantly.

A powerful pressure exploded from Lin Yue's body.

Blue light surrounded him.

The entire forest suddenly became silent.

Behind Lin Yue, a gigantic shadow slowly appeared.

It had the shape of a dragon.

The wolf stopped.

Its body trembled.

For the first time, fear appeared in its eyes.

Lin Yue looked behind himself.

“A dragon…”

The enormous shadow opened its eyes.

Two deep blue lights appeared in the darkness.

Then the dragon released a silent roar.

The monster immediately turned around and fled into the forest.

Lin Yue stood there, completely stunned.

Lin Yue looked at his hands.

Blue energy slowly disappeared from his fingers.

Lin Yue's expression changed.

“Two powers?”

He looked toward the distant mountains.

A strange feeling suddenly appeared in his heart.

Something was waiting for him.

“Then I'll find it.”

He turned toward the mountains and began walking.

He didn't know that his arrival had already been noticed.

Far away, beyond the forest, an ancient city stood beneath the mountains.

Inside a massive stone hall, an old man suddenly opened his eyes.

A faint dragon-shaped mark appeared on his forehead.

“The Void Dragon…”

His voice was barely a whisper.

“After all these years… it has finally returned.”

Outside the hall, the sky suddenly darkened.

A massive dragon-shaped cloud appeared above the ancient city.

The old man stood up.

“Prepare the guards.”

“We have found the heir of the Yuan Family.”
