That evening, David took Marilyn to their old school.
The gates were closed.
But they sat outside.
David reached into his pocket.
Marilyn looked at him.
“What are you doing?”
“I have something to ask.”
He opened a small box.
Marilyn covered her mouth.
“David...”
He smiled.
“Do you remember our movie?”
She began crying.
“Yes.”
“We've had good scenes.”
She nodded.
“Bad scenes.”
She laughed through her tears.
“Arguments.”
“Distance.”
“Goodbyes.”
“Returns.”
He took her hand.
“And I don't want the next scene to be another goodbye.”
Marilyn looked into his eyes.
“What do you want it to be?”
David smiled.
“A beginning.”
