Chapter 3 Farewell stranger.

"Nanny Isha!" Sammy, one of the male servants stopped her. "Where are you going with the knife?"

"I've had enough!" she snapped. "I'm going upstairs to save Ma'am Olivia from that beast!"

"You can't do that!"

"Yes, I can. And I don't care if I get blood on my hands. I can't keep listening to that woman scream while we all stand here and do nothing."

She tried to climb the stairs, but Sammy quickly grabbed her hand and took the knife from her.

"Give that back!" She yelled.

"Nanny, think about what you're about to do. This is illegal. You could be arrested for this."

Isha stared at him.

"And what Lucas is doing to her isn't illegal?" Sam said nothing. "I've watched that man destroy her dignity without doing nothing to stop it."

"You can help her, but not this way. Going up there will only worsen the matter."

Isha looked toward the stairs as another scream came from upstairs, her heart broke.

Before they could say or do anything, Lucas appeared at the top of the stairs, adjusting his shirt.

He walked down without saying a word, his face cold as he passed them.

Isha waited until he was out of sight before rushing upstairs. She pushed the bedroom door open and ran in.

Olivia was sitting on the edge of the bed, her clothes scattered around the room. She looked exhausted, her hair messy and her body trembling as she struggled to pull the sheet around herself, crying.

“Oh, madam Olivia!” Isha whispered as she hurried over and wrapped her arms around her. “It’s okay. I’m here.”

Isha helped her clean up and brought her fresh clothes. She stayed beside her until Olivia was dressed and settled back on the bed.

“I'll make you something warm."

A few minutes later, she returned with a cup of warm herbal medicine. “Drink this slowly. It will help you calm down.”

Olivia took the cup with shaky hands. “Thank you, Nanny.”

Isha sat beside her and gently rubbed her legs as Olivia sipped from the cup.

"I don't know what I would have done without you, Nanny, thank you so much."

“I only did what a mother should do for her child. You shouldn't have to go through all these.”

Olivia suddenly remembered something and faced Isha. "Nanny?"

“Yes, ma’am?”

“There was a guy who helped me the night I tried to escape.”

"A guy?”

Olivia nodded slowly. “I entered the wrong cab without even realizing, Lucas had instructed the cab man to keep an eye on me. When I finally noticed, I began to scream and this stranger came, he helped me hide and..."

Tears rolled down.

“And?”

“Lucas's bodyguard found us and shot at him."

Isha's hand stopped moving. "Oh my God! Did he die?"

“I don't know if he died, I don't know what happened to him after he was shot. I only knew his name was Austin." Olivia adjusted and curved Isha's hands into hers "please, I need you to do me a favor, nanny. Find out for me. Ask anyone you can. I just need to know if he's alive.”

Later that evening, Olivia was sitting in the living room when the door Bell rang.

She glanced at the video intercom to see who was at the door. It was someone she had been expecting so she opened the door. A masked man was stood there, he said nothing. He simply handed her a sealed brown envelope, collecting another that was containing a wad of dollar in return. Isha nodded at him and he left.

Isha looked around before shutting the door then walked towards Olivia. Olivia collected the envelope and began to unseal it carefully, terrified of what she'd see next.
