Chapter 1: Harley Quinn and Joker
Heaven's POV
I'm happier when I'm wet.
Yes, I'm happier under the shower, or when I'm in the pool, anywhere water can drown my thoughts. I ran my fingers through my soaked hair as water cascaded down my bare skin.
But today feels different.
Today, I'm a little pissed.
It's supposed to be my happiest day this year, well, except when my husband bought a brand new private jet for me.
It was my 22nd Birthday. The second I'd be spending with Ivan, but it seems he forgot my birthday again, just as he did last year.
I wiped the steam from the glass and stared at my naked frame, and yes, I'd like to brag about this, I'm curved to perfection, my platinum blonde hair clung to my face and neck.
I trailed my fingers from bare neck to the swell of my breasts, then over to my nipples; several bite marks, both fresh and fading ones, littered across my chest. Ivan must be a vampire.
I heard the soft click of my bedroom door, followed by footsteps. Panic set in, was he here again? Was he watching me bathe again? My nerves settled when I saw who it was. His shirt was once again smeared with blood.
I watched him take off his clothes through the glass, then his hand wrapped around my torso, pulling me closer to him.
"Taking a bath without me, princess?" He squeezed me a little too hard and I winced. Ivan never lets me take baths alone except during my period.
I did this as a little way of rebelling. "I think I have to punish you for that", he whispered into my ear, already palming my breasts.
"Stop!" I pushed his hands off me. Big mistake.
He yanked my wet hair and I cried out, the sharp pain pulling my head back further as I struggled to yank free. He yanked it again, and I was fighting to stop the tears that were already brimming because that would anger him the more. Ivan said I wasn't allowed to cry.
"Stop?" He pushed me until my bare body met the warm glass. "When did you get this bold, Mrs Cortez?"
This was definitely not a way to celebrate my birthday.
"Ivan..." I managed to speak as his lips latched onto my already sore neck again, I grimaced as his teeth grazed and lightly bit into my neck.
"Ivan, it's my birthday!"
Only then did he pull back, turning my shaking, petite frame toward him. With two fingers, he lifted my chin, and now I was staring up at his towering frame.
"Oh" his deep voice sounded, "I already paid for the little yacht party you wanted to have."
No happy birthday.
"Did I hurt you?" he noticed the unshed tears, I blinked as fast as I could, shaking my head. "I'd never hurt you, I love you remember"
Yes, Ivan loved me. He always said that to me. Maybe he was just tired from work, being a mafia don was not an easy task.
"Now I'll give you a special birthday gift", he smirked at me. He lowered his mouth to mine, fisting my hair.
Turning me around he bent me over, "my dick"
I mentally rolled my eyes at that statement. That wasn't special. I've had that every week for two years now.
The glass wall of the shower was warm against my ribs. I shuddered lightly as I felt his cold hands grip my hips, his nails digging in lightly. He didn't hesitate at all, he thrust into my pussy from behind, deep and rough, filling me in one stroke.
I gasped clutching the glass as he pounded hard into me, water splashing with each slap of his hips against my ass.
I shut my eyes, focusing on the sound of the rain shower, counting the rhythmic pit-pat of the water droplets hitting the tiled floor. I counted to a hundred, then started counting minutes.
His hand snaked around, fingers rubbing my clit in tight circles. I clenched around him, "Fuck, yes," I moaned, pushing back to meet his thrusts.
His movements became rough, precise, and entirely focused on his own release.
"Look at me," he commanded, his voice a low grunt near my ear.
I didn't turn my head, but I looked up, meeting his eyes in the distorted reflection of the glass. He was watching his own reflection as much as mine, watching himself take what he owned.
He sped up, and I held my breath, wishing the counting would accelerate, wishing the scene would fast forward to the moment he was gone. He used my hair to steady himself, pulling my head back just enough to ensure I couldn't slump.
"Helen," he muttered, seconds later, burying deep, he flooded my pussy with hot cum, his body shaking against mine.
When it was over, abruptly, as always, he released me. The sudden absence of his weight made me sway, but I caught myself on the glass. He didn't offer a hand.
"Who's Helen?" The words left my lips before I could hold them back. His neck turned towards me sharply.
"Helen? You must have misheard me." He said simply putting on his silk robe. I know what I heard, but I didn't dare say another word.
I wrapped a fluffy white towel around me and stepped out of the bathroom. As I took two steps onto the heated marble floor of the enormous ensuite, I froze.
Standing less than ten feet away, in the entrance to the dressing room, was another towering figure.
Ivan's younger brother, Caius Cortez.
He was naked from the waist up, leaning against the doorframe, a slow, dark smirk playing on his face. His dark eyes, traced the path of water dripping from my hair down the swell of my breasts.
"Brother," Caius said smoothly, his eyes never leaving mine. "I was just about to give my dear sister-in-law her present. I hope I didn't interrupt."
Ivan, adjusting the knot on his silk robe, didn't even flinch. He glanced at Caius, muttering a few words, as always he didn't notice my discomfort around Caius.
He took the black box from Caius without a word and tossed it onto the bed. "Go get ready for the party. And Heaven? The Harley Quinn costume is ready, put it on."
Caius stuck two fingers in his mouth, sucking deeply while keeping his eyes trained on me. With one last wink, he turned to leave.
I moved to Ivan to let him know his brother has been breaking into my room to watch me bathe, but his phone rang, and he answered, walking away from me.
**
Two hours later, the yacht, named The Siren, cut through the cool night water of the bay. I threw a Halloween-themed party. The great perks of being the Don's wife were that you could get anything you wanted.
My blonde and pink pigtails were styled to perfection, the tiny shorts, which Ivan had frowned at, fit perfectly, leaving little to the imagination. I twirled the bat as I smiled and greeted the guests.
Holding a glass of champagne that I had no intention of drinking, I moved through the crush of masks and costumes, trying to find a quiet spot on the deck. That's when I collided hard against a hard chest.
The champagne sloshed, but the glass stayed in my hand.
"Easy, baby doll."
A hand gripped my waist steadying me.
The voice was a low, velvet rumble. I felt a deep shiver down my spine that had nothing to do with the sea air.
Noticing his hand still gripped my waist, I slapped it off.
I tilted my head back to see his face. No mask, just his face, painted ghost-white, with a crimson smile slashed across his lips. His suit was a bold, tailored purple, unmistakably the male version of mine. The Joker.
His beautiful green eyes, framed by smeared black makeup, stared directly into my soul.
He gave me one slow, unnerving smile, his gaze lingering a bit too long on my exposed collarbone, and then he turned, melting into the crowd of costumed criminals.
I stood there, paralysed, my heart hammering against my ribs. I can swear I've heard that voice before. I was sure of it. But where?
A moment later, the music died.
The festive noise was replaced by a deafening gunshot.
Screams erupted, glass shattered.
I watched, frozen in horror, as my birthday party dissolved into a bloodbath. Bodyguards in crisp suits fell. The guests scattered most diving into the ocean.
Ivan. Where was Ivan?
I saw him, he snapped someone's neck and started running towards me, with his gun raised, shouting something to me, but I couldn't hear him, and my legs won't move.
"Heaven!"
With that last scream I made to move, only that a hand curled around my shoulders in a firm grip, and another hand with a purple glint stretched with a gun.
The last thing I saw was tons of bullets being fired into Ivan's skull and him dropping down on his knees, dead.
Before I could process the shock, two more men in black seized me followed by a sickening smell of chloroform.
I stirred into consciousness. My hands were tied loosely in front of me, and I was lying on a soft leather couch. I was no longer in the Harley Quinn costume but in a simple, oversized white shirt.
A figure was seated opposite me in a dark armchair. The room was illuminated by a single lamp. He was still wearing the purple suit, but the facial paint was gone, revealing a strong, angular jaw and dark, intense eyes the same eyes that had looked at me on the yacht.
"Are you alright, baby doll?" he asked, his voice the same low, velvet rumble I hadn't been able to place.
Well, how could I ever forget that voice?
His lips curved into a gentle, wicked smile.
He was Raze Montalto.
