Stray Cat Strut - Fanfiction List!
Hello!
So, to my great amusement and pride, Stray Cat Strut has accumulated a fair amount of fanfiction over its lifetime, and I'm pretty dang proud of it all! So I decided to make a post listing them off right here!
They'll be split along two broad categories. Direct fanction, and indirect.
Direct are stories that take place within the SCS canon. They're in the same world as the main story line, work along the same general rules, and share some common history with Stray Cat Strut. It is entirely possible for these fanfiction to have bump-ins with canon characters and events.
Indirect stories take broad elements of Stray Cat Strut and use them to create a new world. Sometimes it's just the system and early lore, other times it's a collection of storytelling elements from Stray Cat Strut.
If you're a fanfiction writer, and you want your story included on this list, then please comment below! Oh! And include a link! I'll add your story as soon as I can!
Direct Fanfiction
Tinea and Leah (by Eleeyah)
Aden... Aden had an ugly childhood. It taught him how to fight and survive, taught him how to run and hide and cut ties. Taught him that he wasn't born right. It didn't teach him much else. So Aden ran.
Aden grew up. Discovered the world, and crossed an ocean. Made his life his own. Soul-deep pain notwithstanding, he fought to be happy. Aden made due.
Until the aliens invaded his neighborhood.
What to do when you have a rifle in hand, and are damn good with it?
What to do when the rifle isn't enough, when the only way to save a girl and her mother from death, is to die himself?
Aden makes his choice, and is rewarded beyond his wildest dreams. Or perhaps...exactly to his wildest dreams.
Ladies and Gentlemen! Follow Aden as he alters his DNA with the power of Vanguard science to become what, and who, he wishes to be. Accompany Tinea as she greets the world and promptly explores new places, voluntarily or not. Watch as she meets new people; one in particular, one in terrible need of cuddles.

The Last Legion (by Theswerd)
A former soldier looking for a quiet life becomes a "Samurai," a Vanguard of Humanity to defend against the Antithesis invasions.
Unwillingly thrust back into combat he must work with the new voice in his head, an AI who guides and enables him, to hold the line against the dark. And when the barbarian Antithesis hordes are at the gates, who better to call on than the ancient Vanguards of Civilization?
A Danse to the Death (by BurnedGirlRising)
Things were fucked, and they didn't need alien plant creatures invading to get that way.
Ava Kaminski has known that all her life. Things were particularly bad in the megabuilding she had been born and raised in, where everything was falling apart, the corpos sucked you dry just for the pleasure of experiencing it, and her gang was losing ground fast.
Really, the aliens didn't make things much worse.
Now, armed with the power of a Vanguard to aide and protect those around her, maybe Ava can make things change for the better for once.

The Macroon Arcology by BronzeMonarchy
"Welcome to the Macroon Arcology! Ambrose Ryykier's vision to save humanity or at least a city of them. The dangers he strove to defend against? The failing planet, the societal collapse of the early 2020s, and finally the constant Antithesis incursions that caused millions to die to their alien hunger.
So welcome to city that is a massive structure, no need for the real sun or stars. Only electricity is lighting our homes and we love it for it." -Brochure to the Macroon Arcology 2043
Now that you've been welcomed, let me tell you about the real deal. A massive superstructure that is literally separating the rich from the poor by level and section in the massive sphere-like building. While I don't claim to know everything, this is my story where I find out the truth of the Macroon Arcology and what it means to be human in this new world. And no, I am not a trained psychologist and I am not getting paid for this.
Havoc and the Cafeteria Queen by KennyCelican
This is in fact two stories set on opposite sides of a river in the SCS 'verse.
On one side, a nameless old man sitting vigil for his dying wife gets caught in an Antithesis Incursion and takes the opportunity to put decades of studying the Anarchist's Cookbook to good use.
On the other side, a young woman out for a jog on a sunny day winds up defeating a Model Four in the least likely way possible.

Foxfire by LucyKitsune
Luna had her life figured out. HAD. She was going to get a PhD in Astronomy and then after some work in science and academia to get a nice postdoc retire to teach astronomy or experimental physics at her university. And then of course aliens had to show up and fuck up everything by being hostile and requiring her to get a PhD in space warfare rather than something interesting like neutron stars, black holes or other celestial phenomena or even just something useful like orbital mechanics or spectroscopy. - A Stay Cat Strut Fanfic

Deep Cleaning the Deep Sea by Shadowm4ge
Macy Adams is...unusual. Not in the normal neurospicy way. No, she likes something that is seen as very odd for 2056: The ocean. With most of the life in the ocean being dead and the rest being hiding Antithesis hives, it is firstly not a safe place and even more so? It has nothing of value for most people.
Macy is bent on changing that, even if she doesn't have the power to. So, when she initializes as a Samurai during one of her dives, she sets out to clean up the seas and maybe, just maybe, bring back everything that was taken from it. Of course, there's a lot of Antithesis in the ocean, so she's got a long way to go.

Mad Panda by Dan Parker
Louis Larose is a gang enforcer for the Bear-Yakuza. A gang he created but doesn't lead because nop! He hates the name but it made the slums a better place!
In the lowest 14 floors of a mega-building, life isn't great. It isn't great either in New-Montreal in general but worse there. The megabuilding was on a lower hexplate, so he technically lived in the underground!
He still made a nice little home through blood, sweat, tears and more blood. He has three kids and a husband he loves. The kids also have 'aunt' Lila to help. Things are... alright... ish.
Then, a weirdly unnoticed hive under the building becomes active and samurais aren't showing up. He's alone with his enforcers to protect nearly 8000 people.
Good thing he's a samurai now!
