I found Marilyn behind the library.
“I'm sorry.”
She didn't look at me.
“For what?”
“For being jealous.”
She remained silent.
“I was afraid.”
“Afraid of what?”
“Of losing you.”
She finally looked at me.
“You almost did.”
Those words hurt more than anything.
“I know.”
She sighed.
“I don't want jealousy to destroy our friendship.”
“Neither do I.”
“Then trust me.”
“I will.”
She smiled.
And just like that, the movie started playing again.
