KIERRA'S POV

“Dude, honestly? You're seriously whacked in the head. Where are my parents anyway?” I asked as I moved to take a seat beside him.

He laughed, something about the laugh freaked me out, but I brushed it off.

“Oh, they went out for a while, I guess. I didn't find them home when I arrived. I um…snuck in.” He said.

I rolled my eyes, knowing it's something Peter would definitely do.

I laid my head on his shoulder impulsively, and he flinched but only for a second before he relaxed, as his free hand moved to gently stroke my hair.

Peter and I sat like this all the time when we hung out.

I felt a pit in my chest and sighed, suddenly knowing I was going to miss having him as a friend considering he was my only friend.

“I'm sorry, Peter. But, I meant what I said earlier. I love you but I really don't think you're good for my life right now. I really hope you understand.” I murmured.

He's quiet for so long, I stole a look up at him, he's staring down at me with a pained look in his eyes.

“I'm sorry too, Princessa. But, I can't let you go.” He whispered and before I could process what he meant, someone hit me from behind.

I felt my skull crack inside my head as the world spinned around me, I felt myself falling as someone grabbed me.

The scent that filled my nostrils told me it was Peter, I tried to focus on what was happening around me but I couldn't, I slowly blanked out as the world went black.

I groaned, my head feeling like a ton of bricks had been dropped on it.

I tried to touch it, make sure I wasn't bleeding but I couldn’t move. I frowned, my eyes slowly opening.

What the hell did Peter do to me? I blinked furiously looking around, I realized I was still in our living room.

I tried to move again but I couldn't, I looked down and realized I'm strapped to a chair, my hands are tied behind me and my legs are bound together.

“What the fuck?” I exclaimed in confusion. “Your princess is awake, Peter.”

I jumped at the sound of the voice, looking frantically around before my eyes landed on the person sitting on the couch.

My eyes widened and my breath caught in my throat. Oh my God. Who was this Greek god and how did he get into my house?

My eyes struggled to take in every detail from his seated position, his black hair, grey eyes and handsome face.

His hair skimmed his neck, and his lips made me think of unholy things.

I blinked as I saw a silver gun in his hands. I took in his bored expression. “Who the hell are you?” I asked, my voice coming out scratchy.

He eyed me with a totally blank expression, not uttering a word to me.

Peter walked in and smiled sadly when he saw me. “Hey, Princessa.” He said. I cringed, suddenly hating that nickname.

I felt tears burning my eyes but I blinked it back. “What the hell is the meaning of this, Peter?” I asked angrily, “And who the hell is that?” I asked, gesturing at the handsome stranger on our couch.

“That's my cousin, Brad. He knocked you out.” He said slowly.

My head whipped to the guy who was still watching me, my gaze travelled back to Peter.

A sick feeling spread across my chest. “Where are my parents, Peter?” I whispered. Something told me he had lied earlier.

Before he could answer, Brad spoke. “They're tied up in their room.” He said, his voice cold.

I shrunk into myself, my world slowly falling apart. Peter's threat earlier today pushed their way into my head.

“Are you really going to kill me?” I whispered, a tear falling down my eyes, betraying me.

Peter actually looked sad as he stared at me, taking slow steps towards me.

“It's nothing personal, mi amor. You should never have said you didn’t want to be friends anymore.”

“I can't let you go…my parents…” he swallowed as though it hurt him to continue.

“They want me to get rid of you. I guess it's my fault, I didn't hide anything from you, about our family, about me.”

“You don't know much but they're convinced you know enough. For your sake, I'll make this quick.” He said.

I screamed suddenly. My heart stopped cold in my chest.

I looked between Peter and his cousin but nothing in their expression said this is a joke.

“You have to be kidding me, Peter. You know I'll never tell on you. I can't even if I tried.”

“Your family has all that connection with the authorities, remember? What could one girl like me say to rat you all out? One little girl against a whole Mafia family? Please, you can't…

Brad interrupted me, glaring daggers at me. His first expression since this whole nightmare began, his eyes seemed to slice through me.

“Peter is holding back the whole truth. My stupid cousin fucked up when he fell in love with you.”

“Which he knows is against everything we stand for in our family. That's the reason you're dying.”

“He challenged his parents because of you. It's either he kills you or he dies.”

“You have no one to blame but yourself. Remember that, you're the reason your parents are going to die and you're the reason you're going to die today.” Brad concluded, his every word dripping with hatred.

I blinked, my mouth falling open in shock. My eyes are glued on Peter who doesn't try to deny anything.

Instead, I saw tears in his eyes as he stared mournfully at me. “Get out, Brad.”

He said suddenly with so much hatred directed at his cousin, I flinched.
