Chapter 29 - Again

Darius was leaning back in the library armchair with his eyes closed.

He wasn’t sleeping. He couldn’t sleep while the sun was down, but he could rest.

He took comfort from the quiet sounds of Iset working beside him, the paper shuffling, the muted clicks of her keyboard. However difficult the case, no matter how tired he was, at least he didn’t have to work alone.

He felt a hand on his shoulder. He opened his eyes and saw a skeleton gazing down on him with empty eye sockets.

“Darius, it’s happened again.”
